i'm looking for 245/50r16 or a close size pair of tires just to get me through the summer. Not a whole ton of tread is needed but no bald tires and I don't want tires more than 5 years old by the date code. My current rear tires have plenty of tread, but they're somewhere around 10 or 11 years old and have visible dry rotting.

You will need some good drag radials with all of that new-found LT1 powa!

yeah except for the fact that the LT1 helped kill my posi the last time at the track last year! I think i'm going to suffer through this summer and do new 18" rims, tires, LS1 brakes all around and rebuild the rear next off-season. These ultra kick-ass paint jobs are pretty expensive! In the meantime, i want some rubber that won't get me killed or wreck the car.

fell free to ask him about the tires, if you think you'd want them. If there worth it to ship them.

thanks for the heads up. I think i found a good deal on rochesterracing earlier today though. The guy is in syracuse and I plan to pass through there soon anyway so I can avoid shipping and get a first hand look at them before paying.
